Which is the right test for you?
I provide functional testing options for the gut microbiome and digestive system. The gut testing I commonly employ for my patients includes some of the following:
GI-MAP stool analysis – the gold standard in stool testing
The GI-MAP test is one of the most comprehensive stool tests on the market. It allows us to see what is happening inside your gastrointestinal system. The test focuses on specific microbes that tend to disturb the normal balance of your microbiome which can cause digestive problems as well as other chronic health conditions.
The test is ideal for those suffering from digestive complaints such as constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, reflux, stomach pain, irritable bowel, and inflammatory bowel conditions. This test is also valuable for those suffering hormonal imbalances as the test measures Beta glucuronidase which can affect the detoxification of estrogen, leading to estrogen dominant conditions.
The GI-MAP test also aims to get an extensive collection of microbial targets and digestive and immune markers, making it a huge help for those who have—or suspect they have—autoimmune disorders and chronic ailments.
If you’re experiencing anxiety or depression this can be strongly influenced by your gut bacteria, research suggests the gut has a strong influence on brain health.
The GI-MAP screens the body for commensal and pathogenic bacteria, parasites, fungi, opportunistic pathogens, and viruses all of which can have a negative impact on your health if imbalanced.
The GI-Map also tests for leaky gut, pancreatic function, gut-immune response, and gut mediated inflammation providing your healthcare practitioner a clear view of what is happening in your gastrointestinal tract enabling them to formulate an individual and effective treatment for your needs.
As this is a simple stool test, it can be done at any age, from children to the elderly.

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) breath test
This is noninvasive test that measures the amount of hydrogen or methane that you breathe out after drinking a mixture of lactose, fructose, or glucose dissolved in water. A rapid rise in exhaled hydrogen or methane may indicate bacterial overgrowth in your small intestine.
The test is privately done in your own home, collecting 10 breath samples over a 3-hour period.
For accuracy in doing the test please watch “HOW TO COLLECT YOUR BREATH SAMPLE” https://sibotest.com/pages/patient-portal
The SIBO test kit can be shipped anywhere in Australia.
Book your initial consultation online here.
Following your initial consultation with Denise, a test kit will be ordered and sent to your home. After completing the paperwork and the 10 labelled samples, pop it in the express-post envelope provided. Samples should be sent to the laboratory for analysis usually Monday.
Test results will take approximately 2-3 weeks.
At this time, a follow-up consultation will be conducted based on results. A detailed protocol including dietary modifications and treatment plan based on your specific results will be provided.
KBMO DIAGNOSTICS (Food Inflammation Test – FIT) for food sensitivities / intolerances
KBMO – Food Sensitivity Testing measure sensitivities to up to 176 different foods, colouring, and additives using the Food Inflammation Test, also known as the FIT Test. The test was created by Brent Dorval, Ph. D, who was involved in the creation of the first HIV/AIDS rapid diagnostic assay. In addition to the FIT Test, they offer a Zonulin Test (for leaky gut). The FIT test comes in three panels: the FIT 22, 132, and recently added FIT176.
The FIT Test is a patented, multi-pathway, delayed food-sensitivity test. The test uses patented technology that measures both IgG and Immune Complexes, the most common food-related pathways in the body. This enables the FIT test to be able to identify food sensitivities, inflammation, and leaky gut from a single test.
• Option of 176 or 132 Foods & Additives
• A Low-cost Option of 22 of the Most Commonly Reactive Foods is also available
• Exemplary Industry Accuracy using ELISA technology
• Includes a Candida Marker
• Easy Blood-spot Collection
• Easy to Read, Bar-graph Report
• Advanced Zonulin analysis (for leaky gut) included with FIT 176 or 32
